British murder victim's Alcalar house burgled days after funeral

justiceThe former family home of the suspected murder victim Brenda Davidson has been broken into and burgled just days after her funeral on February 5th.

The detached property in Alcalar, Portimão has lain empty since Davidson’s partner, Nigel Jackson, was arrested for her murder.

Jackson pretended that Brenda was in the UK for medical treatment but her suspicious son alerted British police who, through Interpol, asked the local police to question Jackson who admitted that Davidson was dead, but claimed she had killed herself.

Jackson led police to the body buried in sheeting under a recently laid section of pathway near the couple’s pool.  Brenda Davisdon had suffered serious neck wounds which are unlikely to have been self-inflicted.

Brenda Davidson’s son, Dean, returned to the UK after the funeral at Mexilhoeira Grande and police do not yet know what was taken from the house.

Police commented that the property sits on its own and is not in view of any of the neighbouring properties, offering the burglars an ideal opportunity to break in and steal.

Jackson has been remanded in custody in jail and the British Embassy in Lisbon commented,  “We can confirm the case of a British national reported as missing in the Algarve, Portugal since December 2014. We are providing the family with consular assistance.”
