The British Government is providing every household in the UK with a leaflet that sets out why it believes that voting to remain in the EU is the best decision for the UK. It does not offer a balanced view as the Government wants the UK to stay int he Union.
The leaflet, at a cost to the taxpayer of £9.3 million, will be delivered to households in England from 11-13 April, ahead of their local election period and in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland throughout the week commencing 9 May to avoid disruption ahead of their local elections.
For overseas voters, the leaflet is available online.
If you have lived overseas for 15 years or more, you have no vote unless (for reasons that never have been been explained with any degree of logic applied) you are in the British Armed Forces, are a Crown servant or work for the British Council.
If you have been overseas for less than 15 years and have not yet registered to vote you can register by 18 April to vote in the 5 May elections, or by 7 June to vote in the EU referendum on 23 June but for overseas postal votes, apply as soon as possible: the effective date is May 16th.

The leaflet sets out the facts according to current Conservative doctrine, and explains why the government believes a vote to remain in the EU is in the best interests of the people of the UK. It shows some of the choices the UK would face if there were a vote to leave.
