April’s pay packet for public sector workers who earn more than €1500 is being paid from today (Thursday) and sees another increase in the progressive reversal of austerity measures brought in during 2011.
As of this month, another 25% share of reductions made to civil service salaries by the last government will have been ‘returned’, with October the date when pay levels are to be fully back at pre-austerity rates.
