In common with other Eurozone markets, dollar and sterling buyers have the upper hand, and this has helped to revive demand from the UK market in particular.

Amendoeira Golf ResortAmendoeira Golf Resort is located in the central Algarve near the historic town of Silves and 45km from Faro airport. The resort opened in 2012.

The range of properties in each of the residential villages comprises luxury two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom villas, some of which are frontline to the golf course. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the influence of Moorish architecture is evident throughout the resort.

Owners can make use of two championship golf courses, the Oceanico Faldo and the Oceanico O’Connor Jr, and the Amendoeira Sports Club with tennis courts, football pitches and gym. There is also a club house with restaurant, bar and golf shop. Belmar Spa & Beach Resort overlooks the beautiful Porto de Mós beach in Lagos and is 5km from Praia de Luz.

The resort opened in 2011 and comprises 189 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and two bedroom duplex townhouses. The central feature is the spa which offers treatments, hydrotherapy pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and Chromotherapy. There are also four outdoor swimming pools and a gym.

There is strong rental demand and rental returns of up to 8.3% nett can be achieved on some of the studios. Prices range from €116,900 for a 36,30sqm studio to €342,300 for a 115,60sqm townhouse.

Baía da Luz Baía da Luz was completed in 2007 and is 200m from the beach within the town of Praia da Luz. Set against the striking backdrop of Rocha Negra and reflecting the history of the area, this luxury resort is beautifully designed around Roman architecture and landscaped gardens that include cypress, olive and palm trees, and fragrant lavender borders.

The residential complex has a ‘village’ style layout with one, two and three bedroom apartments located in three storey clusters. Facilities include two pools, a children’s playground with paddling pool, tennis court, sports pitch and an Italian themed restaurant and bar.

Prices range from €148,500 for a one bedroom 74,25sqm apartment to €295,500 for a two bedroom 188,15sqm duplex apartment.
