The Portuguese National Speed Skating Elite Team were on a training session at the International School of the Algarve this weekend, February 15/16th. The National Team is preparing itself for this year’s European (Germany) and World (Argentina) championships.
The training session was carried out under the technical guidance of national coach Lívio Medeiros and head coach Alípio Silva.
The senior team consists of seven athletes: Martyn Dias, Diogo Marreiros, Ricardo Esteves, Márcio Costa, Andreia Canha, Glória Pereira and Dina Dominguez.
The ‘Federação de Patinagem de Portugal’ (Portuguese Skating Federation) chose the International School in Porches to hold three of the four training sessions scheduled for this year, taking advantage of the excellent conditions provided by the roller skating track of the school, training centre of the Sports Club of the International School of the Algarve (CDEIA – Clube Desportivo da Escola Internacional do Algarve).
