The World Shore Angling Championships took place in La Tremblade, France last week, with the Portuguese Under 16's and Under 21's youth teams making a valiant effort, resulting in a Silver trophy for the Under 21's team.
It was a hard competition with all the anglers having very close results, with positions changing from minute to minute.
With stiff competition from other countries, Portugal's Under 21's youth team came 2nd place behind Spain, beating France.
The top 3 Portuguese Under 21's anglers were:
Dinis Rodrigues in 2nd
Pedro Batista in 5th
Diogo Neto in 14th
The Under 16's were close behind, finishing in 5th position, so didn't win any awards on this occasion.
The individual top 3 Under 16's anglers for Portugal were:
Francisco Pedrosa in 5th
Lourenco Martins in 11th
Tiago Correia in 17th
The Under 16's winners were Spain, with Italy in 2nd and France in 3rd.
