The July ride for the Algarve Senior Bikers was on Friday the 26th, and started from Silves and finished in Vale de Telha, with an excellent lunch at Restaurante Fonte do Vale.
The route was through the hills north of Monchique and west to Gralha, for a refreshment stop before travelling via the Pincho valley to the restaurant, to complete the ride.
Because of the challenging nature of the ride, with some steep hills and hairpin bends, three groups were formed at the meeting point.
Two group leaders, Phill Anderson and David Shirley, took the planned route, and a third group with David Ryan as leader, took a less challenging route through Monchique, for riders with pillion passengers or sidecars.
Assistance was provided by Stan Green, Peter Kenyon and Roy West.
It was a hot day, but cooler in the west and there were some fine views all along the route, from start to finish.
