Blue skies and warm sea for the charity Santa Swim 2018

Blue skies and warm sea for the charity Santa Swim 2018Thank you and congratulations to all those who participated in the Traditional Charity Santa Swim on Christmas Day in Armação de Pêra.

The weather was warm with blue skies and sea was fairly calm, (unfortunately the low tide meant it was a little rocky) with a temperature of about 21ºC.

Santas started arriving from 10.15am, and at 11.00am a great number of Santas ran toward the sea for their annual dip in the ocean

Our thanks to film crews from TVI, SIC, and CMTV who came to record the event.

Everyone enjoyed a very welcome glass of Hot Chocolate and Brandy in the Holiday Inn Algarve Bar afterwards.

A big thank you to all who participated, the media for helping with the publicity, Diogo Correia who photographed the event, the paddlers from BlueXperience who added to the excitement and for all the donations - almost 800 Euros was raised yesterday for ‘Espaço Amigos’ charity in Armação de Pêra and ‘A Gaivota’ in Albufeira.

In order to raise more funds - there is another Charity Swim on 1st January at 11.00am - just the way to recover from the festivities of New Year's Eve - welcome in 2019 by paddling or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean - what an achievement !  Read more...

Come and join us for a fun-filled Charity Swim .. have a dip in the ocean and help to raise money for local children in need. See more details on Facebook

Come in your pyjamas, bring your swimwear and a towel and go in for a swim - or just a paddle - as long as a part of you gets wet! Then recover in the Holiday Inn Algarve bar afterwards and enjoy a Hot Chocolate. Adults and children are all welcome to take part on the understanding that they do so at their own risk. Please bring a donation and help us to raise money for two local charities: ‘Espaço Amigo’ Armação de Pêra and ‘A Gaivota’ - Albufeira.
