The Silves based charity Castelo de Sonhos (CdeS) would like to thank everyone who took part in their Family Christmas Food Basket campaign. Due to the annual CdeS family party being cancelled the charity decided to distribute family food baskets, plus toys for children registered with CdeS.
It was a great success and meant that the poorest families in & around Silves were able to share a traditional Portuguese Christmas meal. 
Many people donated bags of food items and CdeS would particularly like to thank the following:

CIAO BABY ALVOR Pizzeria & Trattoria
And HOLIDAY INN ALGARVE from where shoeboxes for the elderly, donations of food & slippers were collected & distributed.
The charity would also like to thank everyone who purchased slippers which had been donated by Carol Harvey of "Portugal Slippers". All proceeds went towards the Christmas food.

The proceeds will be used to buy stocks of much needed basic food as more families in need are being registered each month due to the Covid crisis.
