This year marks the 30th year in business for Bev Gibbons and her Pinetrees Riding Centre, Almancil.
The anniversary was celebrated in both July and August with local clients and holiday guests with two fun events consisting of fancy dress, a challenging obstacle course, followed by clear round jumping.
Full marks have to be given to the wonderful mums who made the most elaborate and imaginative costumes for the fancy dress. Well done Andrea who must spend many evenings on her costumes.
Many thanks to Sabine Stohler, judge, for her expertise in attributing the marks for the obstacle course, where each section was worth 10 points. Points were also given for rider position and control.
After the competitions the prize giving took place and a toast was made with espumante – or Robinson´s squash for the non drinkers – and Venepão birthday cake.
This summer the charity supported was the Almancil Food Bank, which supports 160 families in need. These young riders were able to donate children´s clothes, toys, non perishable foods and €270.
