LOCKDOWN THEMED PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION - THE WINNER IS...Rotary Club Estoi Palace (RCEPI) launched a Lockdown Themed Photographic Competition on the 1st of March which ran until the 31st of May.  The last year has been an enormous challenge for everyone. The onset of Covid 19 has led to Governments introducing draconian measures to control the spread of the virus.

Whilst helping the control the disease the introduction of Lockdown has had all sorts of unforeseen consequences as people found themselves confined to their homes, unable to see family  and friends face to face and, in case where people have had to shield, not leave their homes for a year or more.

With this in mind, RCEPI asked “What has Lockdown meant to you” and appealed to people to share their photographs which represented an image that would always remind them of these difficult times, taken within 100 metres of their place of confinement.

A panel of judges headed by  Daryl Gabin of Daracle Photography, www.darclephotgraphy.com and President of the Algarve Photographers Group together with award winning photographer Shannon Belletti, http://www.bellettiphotography.com  and 3 RCEPI members selected the winners as:

1st place to Eric Nemeth with Nobody Outside;
2nd place to Feeding the Soul by Vaughan Willmore;
3rd place to Gerty Geerts with Restrictions.

RCEPI are grateful to everyone who took part and to The Works, The Algarve’s One Stop Printshop, in Almancil, https://theworkseurope.com for sponsoring a prize.

The photographs can be views at www.rotaryestoipalace.org. Funds raised will go towards helping the local community.
