Faro exhibition contributes to positive image of the Roma community

gypsiesThe CCDR-Algarve building in Faro is hosting an exhibition that portrays the Roma community in a positive light.

‘Singular do Plural: 20 profissões, pessoas, ciganos e ciganas’ is open until June 28 at the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission in Faro.

This initiative, "aims to positively influence the social image of Roma communities, contributing to a better knowledge by displaying testimonies of women and men on different paths, especially regarding access to education and employment," explains the CCDR-A.

"In this way, it shows the existence of other realities about society in general and of Roma communities, favouring the sense of equal opportunities and the building of a more inclusive society," adds the blurb.

Entrance is free and the exhibition is open to the public on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
