A Latvian tourist has been seriously injured on a ‘dolphin watching’ tourist boat operating from Lagos.
The 30-year-old woman suffered spinal injuries as the boat sped through the waves. She complained of pain and, after returning to port, was assessed by medical emergency staff from the INEM.
The injuries were considered serious and an INEM helicopter was called up which transported her to Faro hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The alert was given this afternoon just after 2pm with Lagos Bombeiros, an INEM team and the Maritime Police all involved in ensuring the woman received prompt assessment and treatment.
