The tale of two Irish tourists who could not wait to leave the Algarve ended in their arrest at Faro airport
Arriving late at Faro for a flight back home, the two travellers found the boarding gates were closed and their morning flight about to depart. Undeterred, the men leapt the barriers, aiming to scoot across the tarmac to board their flight.
As plans go, this was a bad one as they immediately were spotted by security staff and were arrested by PSP officers working at the airport.
The passengers, 33 and 57, were late for their flight to the Republic of Ireland and were told in no uncertain terms by staff that they had missed it, which they did by an extended margin due their subsequent appearance at Faro court for the crime of forced entry into a secure area.
