The Municipality of Albufeira have received the Municipal Excellence Award in the area of Education for the “SER Project”, a program involving the community, and based on the development of Sport; Social Action; Tourism; Culture; Education and Youth.
A delegation from Albufeira, made up of the councillor responsible for Education, Cláudia Guedelha, and several technicians from the local authority, travelled to Santa Maria da Feira, to the II Social City Congress, where the Municipal Excellence Awards were presented.
The “SER Project”, implemented in schools in the municipality of Albufeira in 2017, is aimed at all levels of education (from Kindergarten to Secondary); it also involves Learning Centres and actions within the scope of individual monitoring, challenging behaviours, families and teaching and non-teaching staff.
Cláudia Guedelha emphasizes that the project aims to support the management of emotions. “Managing anxiety and emotions, learning to have self-control, socializing with other children and adults and fostering self-esteem are some of the objectives of the “SER Project”, developed by the Municipality of Albufeira, inside and outside the classroom”, she said, explaining that the project is extremely relevant “for the integral development of children and adults with very positive repercussions on the level of development of society as a whole”.
“These programs are very important in terms of benchmarking, in terms of being able to learn from each other and in making our work known, which I would like to highlight owes a lot to this fantastic team of technicians from the local authority”.
