Eurostar enjoyed a boost in business travel and general passengers, bringing the total number of its passengers to more than 150 million since the first service began in 1994.
Last year it carried 10.4 million.
More business people chose Eurostar, in part because of improvements in the British economy.
Other popular choices were the high speed service to the south of France via Lyon and bookings for the new direct service to Avignon and Marseille which commences 1 May.
Return fares start from £99 for the six hour trip to Avignon and just over six to Marseille.
The cross-channel rail company’s new high-speed e320 trains will begin operating at the end of this year. They can carry 900 passengers each, a fifth more than current trains, and can reach speeds of 320kmh (200mph). The current restriction is 300kmh and the trains slow to 160kmh in the Channel tunnel itself.
It is investing more than £1bn in its fleet for 17 new trains over the next three years.
Last year the firm celebrated its 20th anniversary.
