Minister of Agriculture spotted in the Algarve

cristasThe Minister of Agriculture, Assunção Cristas applauds the increase in the number of young farmers in the Algarve who had submitted projects under the Rural Development Programme.

In the year to July there have been 978 agricultural projects approved, 427 from young farmers representing 44% of the total, according to the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Algarve.

Lufthansa called another strike

France and Italy will not be “punished”

Jobless rate falls but millions still without work

This has left 18,395,000 people in the euro region without paid employment, of whom 688,000 were in Portugal.

Eurozone edges closer to deflation

eurozone2Eurozone inflation dropped in November to 0.3% across the region, down from 0.4% in October.

The European Central Bank considers anything below 1% to be in its deflation "danger zone". Its target is inflation close to, but below 2% but this was last the case at the beginning of 2013 and has been falling since a 3% peak in late 2011.
