O'Leary on Brexit air chaos - "we'll have to go on vacation in Scotland"

ryanair1Ryanair’s chief executive, Michael O'Leary, was in combative form again while predicting that Brexit will have "a chaotic effect on British aviation," warning British tourists about the possibility of the shutting down of all flights between the UK and EU destinations ‘for several months.’

According O'Leary at a press conference in Dublin, said British companies fly to the European Union thanks to the Open Skies agreement, which will be in doubt if the UK opts for a ‘hard Brexit.’

AL association slams government plan to allow 'neighbours to decide' on tourist rentals

oportoThe Local Accommodation Association of Portugal (ALEP) has slammed the new draft law, that empowers neighbours decide whether someone’s flat can be rented out to tourists.

ALEP says the proposal is "unconstitutional, unadjusted, reveals a great lack of knowledge, and if it is adopted, could lead to unemployment in Lisbon and Oporto alone of more than 10,000 people, thus putting into question the main income of more than 4,000 families."

Portugal's Income Tax Surcharge to be abolished in January 2018

In an interview on RTP3, the minister, recently dubbed the Ronaldo of Finance, stated, "In January 2018 no one will pay the IRS surcharge,” adding that there are a series of additional measures being worked on to ensure the lowest earners will see a reduction in their ‘fiscal burden.’

Of the 43 dogs that were checked, 14 lacked one or more legal requirements including a valid dog licence, an ID microchip and a correct and current vaccination record.

Algarve animals unduly suffer on their final journey to slaughter

vealThe Left Bloc has demanded that the Government arranges for the construction of a slaughterhouse in the Algarve with state of the art technical, hygienic and safety conditions.

The last facility in the Algarve was closed in 2007 and the draft resolution delivered to Parliament highlights the construction of a regional slaughterhouse as being "an absolute priority for the Algarve, in order to eliminate the inequality between livestock producers here and those in other regions of the country."

Murdered Aljezur schoolgirl - stepfather now charged

handcuffThe prosecutor's office said today that it has charged a 36-year-old Romanian with attempted rape, sexual coercion, qualified homicide, kidnapping and desecration of a corpse.
 
The murder took place in Aljezur in December 2014. Schoolgirl, Bruna Nunes, was found bludgeoned to death in scrubland - she was 16-years-old.
