British opinion still open to EU migration

immigrationMore than eight people out of ten in the UK said they think that EU migrants already living in Britain should be allowed to stay in the country.

The figure comes from a public opinion survey conducted for the think tank British Future which revealed that the 84% who believe resident EU citizens should stay includes a very high proportion of people who supported the Leave campaign (77%).

Pine, grassland and scrub were consumed before 82 firefighters brought the blaze under control and extinguished it.

Abandoned Ria Formosa catamaran to be auctioned

"The vessel was towed to an anchorage on Culatra, where it will remain for the time being. Next week we will start the lost property process and possible auction the vessel for the State," read a police statement.

The minister, Augusto Santos Silva, does not know whether the two sons of the Iraqi ambassador are in the country but claims the Portuguese authorities have maintained "informal contacts through diplomatic channels" with the Iraqi embassy.

The Church says the IMI bills are flowing in and complains of incorrect tax demands but the government says it has issued no new instructions to Finanças to tax Church properties and claims, rather weakly, that not all Church buildings are exempt as this depends on the use of each building.
