Carlos Costa has decided that bank customers have to realise that there are risky financial products and safe financial products and said there was a need for a change in the relationship between customers and their banks.

French economy “locked in reverse gear”

The French economy is the second largest in the eurozone after Germany. The country’s manufacturing output declined for the 11th month in a row and the pace of decline was the fastest so far this year.

'Low cost fuel no different to fuel with additives' claims Minister

petrolpumpPortugal's National Authority for the Fuel Market is heading a campaign to persuade s drivers that the new cheap fuel now on sale is perfectly OK to use and that additives in more expensive fuels make no difference to engine wear or fuel consumption.

The Authority message is that "the question of additives is a commercial one," and that even if they were needed, car manufacturers would demand their inclusion in fuels.

Parpública loses €367 million for the Portuguese taxpayer

parapublicaParpública, the company that manages the state's stake in companies on behalf of the Portuguese taxpayer, has reported a loss of €367 million for 2014 due to rising debts at TAP and falls in Galp’s value.

In the previous year, Parpública managed to earn €792 million due to privatisation sell offs at the post office, CTT (€343 million) and energy distributor, REN (€142 million).

Investors pick UK over eurozone

Faro landowner holds out against state bullying
