The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) last week announced its branding re-release for the We, The Riders (WTR) campaign. Both on and off the roads, all riders are equal, and there is strength in their beautiful diversity; this is the core vision of the rebranded We, The Riders campaign that is being launched through the release of their promotional video. WTR stands ready to deliver an unmatched community experience and aims to unify the global population of motorcycling enthusiasts, providing them with a central social media hub.
Leaving September's meeting place at the Rede Energia Petrol Station, just south of São Bras de Alportel the clouds started to melt away with the rising temperature. It was an extremely good turn-out with 36 riders including many new faces and bikes wanting to experience an ASB Ride.
August is usually one of the hottest months of the year in the Algarve and so members of the Algarve Senior Bikers do not have their regular monthly ride out. Instead it has become a tradition to have a social lunch at the Faro Moto Club headquarters.
Arriving at the usual ASB meeting point in Paderne, members found difficulty parking as the car park was occupied by market stalls selling a whole range of goods, several members acquiring some bargains before riding down the road to a nearby parking spot to sort out the two groups for the ride.
Rotary clubs around the world change their presidents at the end of June/ beginning of July each year. Almancil International Rotary Club is no exception and on Wednesday 26th June, at a special dinner held at the Conrad Hotel, President Brian Giles handed over his chain of office to new president, Mark Hulit.
On a day with lovely warm sunshine the Algarve Senior Bikers met in São Bras de Alportel for a beautiful ride across the northern Algarve hills. Some of the highest roads in the area allowed some spectacular views towards the coast and inland.
On Saturday, 8th June, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCPI) together with the Rotary Club of Olhao and Alliance Française, hosted their 5th annual iconic White Night Dinner at the historic Museu do Traje in Sao Bras.
After meeting in Silves the two groups of ASB motorcycle riders headed for the quiet roads around the Monchique hills. Taking a challenging route which gave the riders plenty to think about on the way, the lunch venue at restaurant Sol e Serrra in Marmelete.
On the bright clear day the views towards the coast were spectacular.
