From Rome to Vilamoura: finding the finds in Cerro da Vila. On Tuesday 9th November, the Algarve Archaeological Association (AAA) will be presenting two lectures, in English, by archaeologists Filipe Henrique and Ana Pratas. The first lecture will be at 2.30pm at the Museu do Traje in São Bras, the second lecture will be at 6pm at the Convento de São José in Lagoa.
The rideout to Odeleite was the first ASB venture into Spain. The turnout was good, with 38 members attending. It was great to see old friends again and new members joining for the first time.
The Rotary Club of Albufeira has just been awarded with two recognitions/distinctions, namely "Highest 1960 district distinction", with the Platinum classification and "Rotarian of the Year", awarded to the Rotary Club Albufeira 2020/2021 President, Jorge Azevedo, by District 1960 - 2020/2021 Governor, Roberto Carvalho.
In mid-October 2021 a group of 6 riders and 2 pillions from the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) hit the road to explore the picturesque Andalusian countryside in Southern Spain. Sunny weather, empty winding roads, fantastic culinary delicacies and several cultural highlights made the tour an unforgettable event.
The Algarve Senior Bikers met in Paderne for the start of their September ride, splitting into two groups- one led by Andrew Chilton and the other one led by Steve Wills.
Some riders had a slightly damp ride on the way to the meeting point for the Algarve Senior Bikers September ride, due to the early rain showers. The Meeting point was in São Marcos de Serra. The day was organised by Philippe Payen, with the assistance of Eric Desurvire and David Shirley.
During the recent somewhat warm weather, the organisers of the July ASB ride decided to head towards the cooler west coast and were lucky enough to find a cooling breeze for most of the trip.
In a fantastic new partnership, Algarve Croquet Club (ACC) has taken up home at the prestigious Benamor Golf in Conceiçao de Tavira, near Tavira.
