Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) contacted Faro Hospital to see how they could help them. The Hospital has been under huge pressure both physically and financially during the pandemic with staff stretched to the limit. The Club received a “Wish List” of items that would help them and arranged for some of these to be delivered.
Since it was chartered in 2006 Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) has been raising funds to support local disadvantaged people. In addition the club felt it important to give support and encouragement to local students.
Meeting face to face at last and strictly following Covid rules, a group from Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) met for the hand-over to a new Club President last week. Rotary Presidents generally serve for one year and the Presidency changes in June or July each year depending on the club.
On 29th June in the delightful garden setting of Barbacoa Restaurant, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) changed Presidents for the coming Rotary Year of 2021-22. Outgoing President Uwe Jonsson handed over the chain of office to incoming President Shirley Dunne. The Handover was the first time Club members had been together for an official meeting in over a year and it was a pleasure to be together with various guests, albeit appropriately socially distanced.
It is with great honour, joy and pride, that Rotary Club of Albufeira has received the highest distinction, in this Rotary Year 2020-2021, the Platinum Mention District Award, awarded by the District Governor, long with 4 other clubs - Cascais-Estoril, Lisbon, Lisbon International and Ponta Delgada.
After a year of forced inactivity due to the pandemic, the Algarve Senior Bikers finally managed a group ride again. Twenty five members were pleased to get out on the bikes again and meet up with fellow members again after so long.
At the inaugural meeting and open day of the AWL Croquet club, over 40 members and guests were welcomed to Central Algarve in Moncarapacho. Following raising the flag, several games were played, with the consensus being the effort had been worth it. The lawn played well.
The ADL, Dance School of Lagos have qualified to participate at the finals of the ALL DANCE WORLD HYBRID 2021 in November in Orlando, USA.
