Children’s charity ACCA, helps those in need in different ways, covering the cost of much-needed therapies and treatments that range from physical and psychological to the practical, with the supply of special equipment that will make a difference to a child’s development. We are a local charity FLIC (Funds For Locally Identified Causes). Our Harvest Festival event is at the Sociadade in Amorosa on Saturday 29th October, doors open at 7.00 for 7.30, and is 12€ including a meal of Chicken in the oven, or 3€ after 9.30, without a meal.
Attendees are asked to bring with them a 'bag for life' containing non-perishable goods.
A fundraising event held on 24th September was a roaring success and raised over €3000 for the Bombeiros of Lagoa and Silves.
Over 150 people attended the event at O'Grady's 12 Bar, Quinta da Figueirinha in Silves and enjoyed an afternoon of good food and entertainment. While event-goers tucked in to a Portuguese BBQ, local artists contributed by performing a variety of music from traditional to jazz, rock and classical.
ACCA’s back to school appeal gets hundreds of youngsters off to a great start
This year, more children than ever before were helped by ACCA, returning to school with the equipment needed to ensure they can learn. In all, 841 new school bags and back packs were given out to 35 different establishments including schools, food banks, orphanages, homes and social community centres looking out for the poorest kids in the Algarve.
Children’s charity ACCA scored major points at the fund-raising Pro-Am last week at Pinheiro Altos Clube be Golfe, when 72 players competed for the winning trophy.
