Oscars Bar in Vila Sol is under a new management team of Si Frater and his lovely better half Janice Frater! Si has worked in the Algarve for 15 years and presented shows at Oscars for the last 8 years, so knows what customers need and want. Janice has worked in hospitality for pretty much 30 years.

VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa will reopen its fine dining restaurant Atlântico on 27 June, with a renewed identity that places the Algarve’s traditional roots and ingredients at the core of the menu, supervised by Chef Pedro Pinto. This redefinition of the cuisine at Atlântico reinforces and complements the resort’s sustainable philosophy to highlight and support the richness of Portugal’s gastronomic heritage.

A Escola do Gelado, the first ice cream school in Portugal and the only one specialised in natural ice cream, have opened their own space in Albufeira, and the first training courses start this month!

Courses are available for those in the Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe industry, or just those with a passion for ice cream.

Join Daniel Fox and local volunteers to clean up the Eastern Algarve. Based in Tavira, the Facebook group "East Algarve Cleanup" are trying to make a difference in the community by picking up rubbish across the Eastern Algarve region, especially plastic.
