La Rose, one of the most recognised and emblematic brands from the Algarve’s proud tradition of pioneers in the fish canning industry, is being relaunched by Ramirez & Cª, the oldest cannery company still in operation.

"Despite having been withdrawn from the market 40 years ago the brand continues to display a range of reasons why we had a rethink and are to bring it back to the market," said Manuel Ramirez, manager of the canning company.

A delay of over a year in finalising the sale of the old Lagos train station is hampering the opening of a café and art gallery by a British couple.

In the letters HMRC says: “Looking at the figures in your self assessment tax calculation for the tax year ended, we can see that your effective tax rate is lower than average for people with a similar amount of income to you. This could mean that there is something wrong with your tax return.”
