A group of budding scientists from Nobel International School Algarve Year 12 and 13 have set up a Science Committee. The group of pioneering students are devoting their free time to enhancing the learning experiences of younger colleagues at the school. They meet every week for two hours to explore existing scientific experiments used with current Year 9 and GCSE pupils with the intention of improving and diversifying the experiments possible to make, and also trying to develop new experiments.
The Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve will be holding its Burns Supper at the Restaurante Ponte Romana in Silves on Saturday 27 January 2018. Starting at 7 pm guests will be greeted at the entrance by the lusty playing of our piper Malcolm MacGillivray. We will start off with a bubbly reception before sitting down to enjoy dinner with MacSween’s haggis (after the Beast has been formally addressed and slain), tatties and neeps as the main course. For non-believers vegetarian haggis or grilled chicken will be available, but must be ordered in advance. The meal will be accompanied by wine and perhaps even some amber mead!
The Nobel International School Lagoa and Lagos primary sections performed their annual festive performances in the last week of term.
Lagoa Years 1-6 performed "Christmas Wishes", written by Pennie Best, a play about toys that children wish for and the nativity at the end.
Lagos Pre-School-Year 6 did "A Midwife Crisis", a play written by Gaynor Boddy and Rebecca Kincaid.
